Our house was started on time, completed EXACTLY ON SCHEDULE in spite of minus 20 deg temperatures. Any alterations during the build were carried out promptly and economically. After 10 months NO SNAGS. The only heat needed is heat from a stove -- NO OIL HEATING NEEDED! Gardiner Construction are absolutley fantastic. Thoroughly recommended .

Mill Cottage has been admired by all those who have seen the finished product which is only half the story. Stephen Gardiners company was recommended to us by numerous local people and we have not been disappointed. From our very first discussions Stephen advised that his company would manage the project from start to finish and that they would execute the work for a fixed price plus estimated costs for none clearly defined activities which was acceptable to us and the work was completed as quoted. We made a few minor changes to suit our requirements which were accepted and worked into the overall schedule. The quality of the tradesmen who executed the work was of the highest order as was their work ethic and we were kept informed of all work related trade changes which were needed to suit the project engineering designs.

It was with some trepidation that we approached the prospect of building our own home. How big is building your own house? Scary!...... Building horror stories are legion. We unearthed a local builder who had nice blue vans. Our first step was to contact him and things went remarkably smoothly. He took us through from start to finish: the complete package.

Our new house was completed July 2009 (right on schedule!) and we are absolutely delighted with it. When we decided to build a house for the second time, we were well aware of the pit falls of house building and builders. Stephen Gardiner was recommended to us by a number of friends, who had used the company in the past, so we decided to go with them to build our new 4 bedroom house. We were not disappointed; the house was started on time and was finished 2 weeks early in just 22 weeks. Stephen and his staff were approachable and great to work with, any problems sorted out quickly without any fuss and all work was carried out to a very high standard. We have used Stephen Gardiner on two occasions to build houses for us. On both occasions we have been delighted with the exceptionally high standard of his staff and of the high quality of their trademanship. He built an award winning timber clad colonial house for us and also converted a listed church to a 4 bed family home. The quality finish has been so good we have hardly had any snagging. Building a house with Stephen Gardiner is a new and very refreshing experience. In 22 weeks he built our 2,800 sq. ft. timber-framed house, standing on a solid concrete platt, together with a stable block for four horses, all done through the winter months with no detriment to the fabric of the building.
The process throughout, form cutting the first sod of ground to handing over the keys, was one of informed discussion, ensuring that we got everything just as we wanted it. Nothing was too much trouble. His efficiency meant that no time was lost - the right members of his team were on site at just the right moment when that particular trade was needed, to progress the job as smoothly as possible. The result was a house which was home the moment we walked through the door, and we have had no problems with it since.
The day he finished the contract we stood outside the house we had so wanted to build, and saw it as one of the great experiences of our lives. Our words to him were:'With you as the builder, we would do this all over again any day.' And we meant it.

After buying a building site in Auchterarder I had to decide whether to self build or employ a builder. The first option would have been less expensive but the downside would have been the hassle of managing the project while holding down a full time job. I felt the best way to keep my sanity and get the house built before I became too old to enjoy it was to use a builder. After asking around and looking at other houses he had built I approached Stephen Gardiner and agreed a price and a build programme. What impressed me in addition to the build quality, which I had already checked out, was the commitment to the completion of the job on the agreed timescale at the agreed price. I bought the site in August, approvals were granted in December, the building work started in February and the keys handed over in the July. I have no reservations when it comes to recommending Stephen. Fair price, high quality, easy to deal with and an awareness of the importance of customer satisfaction and reputation make him someone I would go back to.
