For the second year in a row, site agent Gavin Cumming has secured a commendation in the single home category of the NHBC’s flagship Pride in the Job awards.
Stephen Gardiner the owner of Stephen Gardiner Construction (SGC) congratulated Gavin Cumming by saying: “To win this award is a fantastic accomplishment, but to win it two years in a row on two entirely different projects is a massive achievement.
This recognition is a credit to Gavin and to every other member of the SGC team, they are consistently striving for and achieving the very highest of standards. SGC have built up an excellent reputation for building high quality individual houses throughout the region and have been fortunate to have built some of the country’s most exclusive properties. There is no doubt that our reputation is in part down to the exacting standards of our managers and their unrivalled passion to providing a product of great quality and one which the clients appreciate”.
The Lechkin, sits just outside the historic conservation village of Comrie and is the brainchild of the nationally renowned Denholm Partnership Architects (DPA). DPA have considered the sloping nature of the site into the design to utilise the magnifi cent views whilst incorporating locally sourced traditional materials to produce an energy efficient home which is well suited to the local vernacular.
The construction of the house faced unique challenges throughout, from the laborious task of pecking stone to allow for the construction of the underbuilding, to the challenge of material delivery within the confines of the access track to name but a few.
“Gavin has delivered a high level of management and the team have once again delivered a finish of the highest standard under his supervision. The project has been a huge success and we are thrilled to provide the client with such a wonderful home and to receive the subsequent recognition.”
